Q:  Does the Garry™ vacuum come assembled?
A:  Your Garry™ vacuum comes fully assembled, except for the handle. The handle can easily be attached to the vacuum by inserting it into the outer bag tube and securing it with the bolts provided. Also, when ready to use the attachments, you will need to attach the hose, which can be done easily by inserting the hose into the hose attachment socket, twisting and clamping.

Q:  How is Garry™ able to provide such high performance using an energy efficient motor?
A:  The Garry™ ultra light vacuum has an energy efficient 3.5 amp motor and a superior air path design which allows it to work more efficiently than many other upright vacuums. The Garry™ uses a direct air path design which allows the air to travel a shorter distance with less restriction. The air path is much shorter than traditional upright vacuums with only 1 sharp turn. Cleaning and Maintenance

Q:  How do I clean the outer vacuum bag?
A:  The outer bag (the large black outer vacuum bag with the Garry™ logo) is not washable. You can clean it by using a damp cloth or lint brush.

Q:  What should I do if I spill dirt inside the outer bag?
A:  If you inadvertently spill dirt inside the outer vacuum bag (the large black outer vacuum bag with the Garry™ logo), you can clean it in the following manner. First, remove large debris with your hand. Then, turn the vacuum up side down and gently pat the outer bag to shake the dirt out. It is recommended that you do this outdoors and that you remove all the tools from the bag pockets prior to cleaning the outer bag.

Q:  Is the inner vacuum bag reusable?
A:  The Garry™ inner vacuum bag (the bag that captures the dirt) is not reusable. When it is full, please dispose of it and replace it. Your Garry™ vacuum comes with unlimited Garry™ hypo-allergenic bags for life free of charge to you other than a shipping and processing fee. Q:  How do I know when to change the disposable inner vacuum bag?
A:  If you notice a loss of suction, the first thing you should do is check to see if the bag is full. To check the bag, simply unzip the outer bag and then gently pat the inner bag with your hand. The bag should be changed when it becomes filled to the indicator line on the bag.

Q:  How do I change the disposable inner vacuum bag?
A:  When the disposable inner vacuum bag (the bag that captures the dirt) is full, you will need to change the bag. First, unzip the outer vacuum bag (the large black outer bag with the Garry™ logo). Then locate the inner vacuum bag release tab. Press the release tab with one hand and carefully pull the inner bag away from the vacuum bag plate. As soon as you get the bag off of the plate, pull on the bag sealing tab to seal the bag before you remove it from the outer vacuum bag. Lift the inner vacuum bag up and out of the outer bag and dispose of it. Before you install a new inner vacuum bag, quickly inspect the vacuum plate to make sure there is no blockage or other obstruction that might inhibit air flow. Next, slide the new bag into the slots under the plate and pivot the bag up and around the vacuum plate. This should be a snug fit. Gently press the bag past the release tab until it clicks into place. Inspect the bag to make sure the entire inner bag is contained within the outer vacuum bag and zip the outer bag closed.

Q:  How often should I change the vacuum belt?
A:  The vacuum belt has a long life and does not need to be replaced unless it breaks. With your Garry™ vacuum, you received a spare Garry™ vacuum belt that you can use if your vacuum belt breaks or is damaged. If you need to order additional vacuum belts or other spare parts, call Garry™ customer service at 1-888-544-3729 or visit our website at www.garrystore.com.

Q:  How do I remove a broken or damaged vacuum belt?
A:  To remove and replace your Garry™ vacuum belt, first turn your vacuum cleaner off and unplug it. Then turn your vacuum over so that the base is upside down and the brush is facing upward. Unscrew and remove the cover to the chamber that contains the vacuum belt, which is located adjacent to the roller brush. Next, rotate the roller brush with one hand and as the roller rotates, use your other hand to pull the belt off to the side.

Q:  How do I install a new vacuum belt?
A:  To replace your Garry™ vacuum belt, first follow the instructions above to remove the old vacuum belt. Then, once the old belt is removed, place the new belt inside the belt chamber and use your finger to loop the new belt over the motor drive shaft, which is a small metal rod inside the belt chamber. Next, use your finger to loop the belt over the rotating wheel on the end of the roller brush inside the belt chamber. Then turn the brush head until the belt is completely secured. When finished, replace the belt chamber cover and secure it with the screw.

Q:  How do I remove hair, string, carpet fiber or other materials from the roller brush?
A:  First, turn your Garry™ vacuum off and unplug it. Next, turn your vacuum cleaner over so the roller is viewable and accessible. With a sharp pair of scissors, carefully cut the debris from the roller by cutting parallel to the roller. Take care not to cut the roller brush bristles.

Q:  Does my Garry™ vacuum need to be lubricated?
A:  No. Your Garry™ vacuum requires no lubrication.
